Where was he born?
Michael Davitt was born on the 25th of March 1846 in Straide, County Mayo, Ireland. He was born at the height of the Great Famine. In 1850, when Michael was only four his parents was evicted from his house.
Why is he famous?
Michael Davitt is famous because he was an Irish Republic and he founded the Irish National Land League.
